In the Name of Allah, the most beneficial, the most merciful In this article I will present a story from Karbala in urdu which relates a local incident. In summary, a man threatened to imprison his wife and children if she did not find him a donkey for 100 pieces of silver. His wife then asked her brother to look for one instead because it would be cheaper. She was successful and brought him back exactly what he needed for nothing more than the cost of one goatskin bag. The story was a favorite of the villagers because it explained the meaning of good and bad, good being a donkey and bad being a bag of silver. As a footnote, I have added how the village had been able to afford the donkey. In the present society, this is probably still an issue of which people can benefit from. In some cases animals are stolen from their owners for no reason although there is widespread fear of being found out by accepting bribes or even just paying someone to steal something from you. The abuse caused could be enormous in effect because animals are heavily used in religious ceremonies and for transportation for other reasons. The villagers were known for their good hospitality, they found the local men to be superior to city men. The city people were seen as sly and dishonest due to their dealings with one another. However, the villagers felt that these kinds of attributes were not required in order to get ahead. One day, a man named Wasim came to the village and sat down in order to rest while he was traveling through there. He was offered some food that he had not tried before but enjoyed it very much. It was very good that he asked for another bowl of it several times during his stay there even though it was not time for doing so. Consumed with hunger, he started talking to someone about his meal. He said, "People in the city were very stingy and refuse to allow you do enough for anyone." One of the villagers replied, "It may be hard for you to believe but we do not like city people and we do not let them stay here." The man continued by saying, "The people of the city are extremely deceitful. What they say is not atypical of their nature." Hearing this, one of the villagers began to think that Wasim was a good person. He was well-built but at the same time nice looking. The villagers said, "You seem like good man. Maybe you will be allowed to stay in our city." The man replied by saying, "I do not want to go there. I would rather spend the night here than to do so in the city." Hearing this, another villager approached him and said, "Who knows what happened in the past that makes you hate the city so much?" Wasim then started telling his story. He said that he lived in a small village with his wife and children where he was much respected by his community because of their hard work. cfa1e77820
