This document contains information on the ML-1660 firmware that fixes an issue with unsupported characters in USB text string. This document is intended for anyone running ML-1660 firmware version 1.00, 1.01, or 1.30 who is experiencing problems with unsupported characters in USB text strings not appearing correctly when the device is connected to another computer. The following steps must be performed to successfully update the ML-1660 firmware (version 1.00,1.01,1.30). The steps are as follows: Step One: Download and extract the "fix ml1660 v1.01" file from this link  to a temporary folder on your computer;  be sure to download this file after you have updated your firmware (version 1). Step Two: Navigate to the " fix ml1660 v1.01" directory that you created in Step One;  you will find three files within this directory. Step Three: Locate the *.fls file for your firmware version (version 1.00, 1.01, or 1.30) and place this file into the " fix ml1660 v1. 01" directory you created in Step One. If you have an ML-1660 firmware version other than 1.00, 1.01, or 1.30 then the correct *.fls file may be located in a different directory on this same website  and you will need to locate and place this file into the " fix ml1660 v1.01" directory you created in Step One. Step Four: Right-click on the *.fls file that belongs to your ML-1660 firmware version and select the " Rename " option from the pop-up menu;  this is a very important step, because if you fail to rename this *. fls file, your ML-1660 won't be updated. Step Five: Rename the *.fls file to something easy to remember so you don't forget it later on.  Use the text editor of your choice to change the file name from "fix ml1660 v1.01" to "fix_ml1660_v1.01". Step Six: Double-click on the " fix ml1660 v1.01" directory that you created in Step One;  you will then see that three files are present within this directory - two .fls files and one .bin file. Step Seven: Select one of your two . cfa1e77820
